Hey ya'll -- so in our class we're watching All The President's Men, the movie about the Watergate scandal. In the movie, there is a huge emphasis about keeping the integrity of anonymous sources. It is extremely crucial to keep anonymous sources just that, anonymous. Without this secrecy, people could get hurt, or even killed.
In my opinion, as long as the source is credible, and the journalist and editor of the paper know that, the source should be allowed to be used whether it is anonymous or not. There is some debate over whether or not anonymous sources should be used or not. If they were never used, though, then there would be many less sources for journalists.
I hope this post makes sense....

The best part of waking up....

...is Folgers IS CLOSING IN KANSAS CITY?!?!?!
wait, that's not how the jingle goes, is it.....oh well.
This recession has really hit everyone where it hurts. Unfortunately, the Folgers plant that has been a presence in the downtown area of Kansas City is closing. they are moving production the the New Orleans plant.
Within this next year around 50 people will be laid off. The numbers will keep dwindling until the summer of 2012 when the plant will idle entirely.
This plant has been a staple of Kansas City for the past 50 years at least. What is going to take it's place??
Crime and Punishment...in Kansas City
"A Kansas City man who shot and critically wounded a police officer in 2007 was sentenced this afternoon to 30 years in federal prison." --> KC STAR
Holy Shit!!!
Really?, really??? -- What in your life is SOO bad that you have to resort to this type of thing. I can't even imagine. Maybe that's me being born into a privileged life, but sue me for being thankful for that. "No, don't sue me...that's the opposite of the point I'm trying to make," - Michael Scott.
I'm not good at staying on topic of any of these posts, whatsoever...
I know you better
Than you want me to
Inside your pockets
And walking in your shoes
Oh it can get better if you try
You got to
Give a little love
Give a little love
Give a little love
To get a little love
Give a little love
Give a little love
----> That's all you need according to the Beatles...what more could you ask for?!
No more violence, KC. PLEASE?! :)

March Sadness

Kansas. The one good thing you had going for you, you just couldn't hold onto any longer.
Brackets nation-wide are ruined! Does anyone really care who wins this tournament anymore? ...probably not.
Does anyone really care about this blog? ...probably not.
KU basketball is something I was personally looking forward to for the rest of this season, but I guess I will just have to find something else to occupy my time with. Not saying I have nothing to occupy my time with because BELIEVE ME, I do.
But, I digress...
Look at how disappointed Bill Self is after his poor Jayhawks lost...
“With this team, for the most part, it wasn’t a jubilant locker room,” Self said. “It wasn’t a massive celebration when you win and do some things. These guys have grown to expect to do those things. Sometimes, when you coach at a place like Kansas, where expectations are high, winning becomes a relief, and losing is awful.”
After seven years in Lawrence, Self is still learning to appreciate what makes this place and a few others — like North Carolina and Kentucky — different than the rest. All he’d have to do for confirmation is remember the way he fell to the floor and breathed a desperate sigh of relief two years ago when Davidson’s Jason Richards missed a game-winning three-point attempt in the Elite Eight.
